Rugby is New Zealand's' national game, there would be no better way to immerse yourself in our culture than playing rugby for Southbridge, we are one of the oldest clubs in New Zealand and one of the founding members of the Canterbury Rugby Football Union, we would love to be your host club in New Zealand. For further information email the club and we will put you in touch with the right people. Assistance with finding accommodation will be given and we will find employment for you. A working holiday in New Zealand Typically to satisfy the requirements of New Zealand immigration you must:
- have a passport from your country that is valid for at least three months after your planned departure from New Zealand
- be at least 18 and not more than 30 years old
- not bring children with you
- hold a return ticket or sufficient funds to purchase such a ticket*
- have a minimum of NZ$4,200 available funds to meet your living costs while you are here (the amount varies)
- meet immigration health and character requirements
- hold medical and comprehensive hospitalisation insurance for the length of your stay
- satisfy immigration your main reason for coming to New Zealand is to holiday, not work
- not have been approved a visa permit under a Working Holiday Scheme before.
